Leadership Training Outing With Troop 1412
This past weekend, we had it all - warm, pouring rain, drizzle, big wind, cold, snow - in the weather department that is!
On Friday evening we met Troop 1412 at D-Bar-A Scout Ranch. The pouring rain and periodic drizzle put a bit of a damper ;-) on setting up camp - but all went well - the kitchen area and all the camping area were setup in record time.
The purpose of this weekend was Leadership Training. Troop 1999 and Troop 1412 invited a very talented Eagle Scout to direct the training of Scouts from both Troops. This campout followed a joint Troop meeting at which the Scouts were presented with a "Model Troop Meeting" presentation.
The sessions this weekend included:
- What is leadership?
- Conflict Resolution
- Troop leader positions and responsibilities
- Stages of Team development
- and many more leadership concepts
The adult leadership of both Troops had a very favorable response to
So, until next time, we will encourage our Scouts to use the skills they learned on Saturday to make their Troop a better run, more effective program.
